All Transfer Students

IM IN ALSO IM GOING!!!! how much money did you get? tulane is such an amazing school and the campus is amazing...its one of the most respectable southern schools there is, along with duke, rice, emory, and vanderbilt alongside it

D was accepted today as transfer.....She is beside herself with excitement!

What major are you guys?

Hopefully, Architecture

Thank you very much, Moonmaid, i really appreciate it. I wish your son good luck next semester and maybe I'll see him on campus this coming fall.

I plan to carry my current major (public health) over to Tulane.

zsfleischer13 where were you at before? what was your h.s. gpa and college gpa? did you get a scholarship? how much?

I can't decide between biology and public health.
How'd you guys hear about the transfer scholarship? I'm guessing I didn't get it if I didn't hear anything.

I didn't hear about any scholarship information yet, i assume that stuff comes when they actually mail you your acceptance letter.

I just found out I was accepted so there's a good chance I'll be seeing some of you next year

congratulations! what were your h.s. and college stats xx13xx? any scholarship?

I found out about a scholarship today! I didn't know anything about it and didn't get anything in the mail...I got a random email today after filling out a survey that I wasn't sure I'm going to tulane.
16,000 in merit based. That's more than my current school ever gave me.
stats? LAC GPA: 3.7 SAT: 2120 overall and honestly, billions of extracurriculars.

whats was ur hs gpa? wow congrats its quite the accomplishment to get into tulane considering its one of the best 5 southern schools alongside duke vanderbilt emory and rice

I AM ON MY BROTHERS NAME SO DISREGARD THE OTHER THINGS HE HAS SAID ON THIS NAME BUT I Also Just Got Notified When I Called Them That I Was Accepted!!!my High School Stats Were Top Private Hs 4.31 Weighted Gpa 3.93 Unweighted 34 Act 2240 Sat About 14 Ap's Class Rank 23/612...college Duke University 3.4 College Gpa...i Want To Transfer So Badly Because Tulanes Campus Is Gorgeous And Is Huge With Old Castle Like Looking Roman Carved Buildings And Palm Trees And Its Next To The Ocean...new Orleans Is Probably The Best City To Go To College At ... Its Rated The Number One Balance Of Academic/party School Because All The Kids Are Extremely Smart But Arent Geeks They Know How To Socialize...tulane Is The 3rd Best Southern School Behind Duke And Rice, Because Of The Hurricane Its Ranking Went Down, But Will Eventually Go Back To The Top After Everything Settles Down!! I Cant Wait!!

"one of the best 5 southern schools alongside duke vanderbilt emory and rice"

UVa, William and Mary, Wake Forest, UNC Chapel Hill, University of Texas, Washington and Lee, University of Richmond, Sewanee, Furman and Georgia Tech among others might want to dispute that especially since Tulane won't publish its post katrina numbers. In any event it is definitely a cut below Duke, Rice, Emory, and Vandy all of whom have way more money, more academic offerings, higher rankings and higher yield.

in my opinion its better than those...i know tons of kids who can get into ut austin but not tulane...it has higher act/sat scores then all of those..fine to win the argument well say its one of the top 5 private southern schools...and u cant just say tulane wont publish its post katrina numbers so it sucks...what happened to tulane because of that was a terrible thing, for u to degrade them like that because of a natural disaster which they certainly had no control over is beyond my belief...many people died in that hurricane, lost everything they had, and now ur going to try and degrade the school and say its not as good as it was anymore because they are trying to overcome this horrific event and havent released post katrina numbers, which i think they already have because collegeboard updated them already this year

OK I will leave the state schools off the list - Wake Forest, Washington and Lee, University of Richmond, Sewanne, Furman, and oh yes Davidson among other private universities might want to dispute that.

And yes I know people died in Katrina, but all of the schools I listed would have claimed a top 5 South ranking ahead of Tulane BEFORE Katrina! Now that Tulane has slashed it academic offerings, operates at a deficit, has reduced its enrollment and stopped giving its numbers to US News and World Report we are probably entitled, regrettable as this might be, to surmise that it is not quite the institution that it was. The tragic loss of life on the Gulf Coast is as immaterial to the question at hand as the tragic loss of life in the Irish potato famine.

its on us news ranked 44th in the nation...i really think tulanes better then all of those still..let things sttle down after this natural disaster and tulane will be at the top once again after it gets strong and rebuilt

It is ranked 44 based on pre-katrina numbers. Read the footnote. Then look at the 44 schools above it and see how many there are that don't have PhD programs in English and Economics or an Engineering School - all post-Katrina changes to Tulane's offerings not reflected in the rankings. The school is on the wrong track with poor leadership and will be dropping even further in the rankings. That is not a post-katrina change in trajectory only a change in velocity. They are on their third Dean at the Medical School since Katrina and they have their own alumae suing them.

higherlead do you have aim?

aim as in instant messaging or aim as in goal?
