how were all of your fin aid packages??? im considering ED, but dont wanna pay 45k a year.

I got a bunch of low-interest loans, but no grants or work study.

I got great financial aid ED. Not overly generous, but doable. It was a little risky for me to apply ED, because I couldn't come here without good financial aid, but I knew it was far and above my first choice, so I applied. And it all worked out. You should do some research though, so you know what to expect. If you fall in that sort of middle income range, you might have problems with need based financial aid.

Never mind my post. I got in RD, not ED.

crypticism: when did you get your package? i thought they didn't come out for EDers until after May 1st (this is what the office told me).

Ah, nevermind. I didn't see you were already at NU.

julius,
did you not get any offer yet? Or do you mean the official award? Because I got the preliminary decision in January or so.

They give you a sort of preliminary financial aid package within a couple weeks of your decision. Then they give you the final one in the spring. It usually isn't very different from the preliminary one.

i have not recieved any information about my financial aid. we've talked to the office a few times, since i was obviously confused, and they finally got back saying they sent out the ED fin stuff in May.

juliusmonky, have you called the financial aid office yet, or just admissions? We found the finaid office to be pretty responsive and helpful.

batman, if you get in thru ED at NU, but later find out that you can't afford it, you have the option to withdraw your application, provided that you have "demonstrated financial difficulty".
