I’ve been receiving some emails about an orientation program for incoming Latino students called ALMA and I was wondering if this experience is worth signing up for. Has anyone taken it before? If so, what’s it like? In general, I’m just VERY nervous when it comes to meeting new people and finding my “niche.” Is this a good first step? I think the last day to register is today, so I would very much appreciate a quick response. Thanks!
Seems like a great way to meet new people and specific to Latino/a community. Studies show these types of programs help people assimilate to school and actually help to become successful in school. You will meet people like right away plus others you will meet in your dorms etc. Great way to start school . Plus gives you an organization to put on your resume also!
I only see positives with this.
