@skieurope I don’t think the article was implying that the plagiarism checker is concerning, but rather waiting weeks or months after the psets were handed in to run the plagiarism checker, and then adding more delays by not notifying the students until well into the next semester is concerning as the delay may put the students at a disadvantage in defending themselves against the allegations raised by the plagiarism checker.
@tdy123 No, I understood that as well. I was being cynical. As also quoted in the article:

My roommate used to grade Fortran programs. I remember him saying he wrote on one student’s assignment “don’t worry, the guy you copied from also got an F”
@skieurope My bad. My online skills, or lack thereof, often result in my taking comments at face value when they clearly should have been interpreted as sarcastic or cynical.
