Almost 17 And Still Without A Boy Friend. (Should I Be Worried)

I've never been kissed, either. :(. I guess the idea of not having a BF didn't really bother me till I found out I was the only one among my group of friends who doesn't have one. I just don't know why I still haven't found someone yet (or someone hasn't found me yet.) Maybe its because I'm black and I've sort of always had a preference for white boys. Not to be racist or anything but my school is pretty much 99 % Caucasian. Maybe Caucasian boys don't prefer black girls. Who knows? Anyways I just want to know if any of you guys have had BFs (or GFs) yet and if you do when did you start going out (the first time). And also what am I doing wrong. Maybe its something I'm doing, or not doing.

I’m almost 19, never had a boyfriend, never asked anyone out, never had a kiss… Guys have asked me out before, but I don’t want to be tied down in a relationship… yet.

Don’t force yourself to do it just because your friends have had bfs and stuff. Just because you don’t have a boyfriend doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

Go at your own pace. You’ll find someone amazing in the future!

Well, I’m 17 and I haven’t had a boyfriend yet either. <- Would be funnier if I had had a girlfriend.

^ lol

I’m also 17 and girlfriendless. I never saw the point in going after a relationship with someone you are unlikely to actually marry…

17 and boyfriendless. Woot.

Can’t really complain; haven’t met anyone who’s boyfriend material, and I can barely stand most people I know.

16 and girlfriendless. However, if I can help it, that will end. If not, then college girls will be where I make my name. At 17.

17 and girlfriend-less. I have this one cute girl like me in school but i said no because the relationship would end after high school anyways.

16 and I have a girlfriend. She’s my first and we’ve been dating 5 months. It’s a lot of fun to be honest. It’s moderately expensive and she’s Catholic, so she’s a bust as far as sexual activities. However, I feel it’s worth it because I’m gaining relationship skills that will help me long after this one is gone…and it’s A LOT of fun :)

^Haha, have you told her that her disappointing lack of sexual will is balanced out by her usefulness in training you to date other girls in the future? Somehow that doesn’t sound right.

I’m 17 and have a girlfriend (over a year). Honestly, I wasn’t trying to find a girlfriend or anything, we just met in a class and started doing things together and I eventually asked her out. I mean, prior to her, I had been considering the Catholic priesthood, so… Yeah, you don’t have to be looking. But if you are, that doesn’t mean you will find someone. Just remember, don’t “settle” for someone you don’t really like or love, just because of social pressure.

I’m pretty much in the same boat as the TC except for the fact that I’m male and 18. If I were you, I wouldn’t worry too much about finding a mate in high school, as the students tend to look more for sexual action than a real relationship in most cases. Also, as you probably already know, it’s going to be real hard to find a caucasian person (American or not) that’s into a black person, so good luck.

There were number of “Catholics” in my former school who were just the opposite. Religion doesn’t always make a person.

Ooooh this is exactly what I think.

I’m a rising junior and I’ve never had a boyfriend, or been kissed by a guy.

But then again I’m a straight guy

There are two prominent single-sex Catholic schools in my area, and I would say they have the least number of virgins.

No, I have not. And I don’t plan to :)

^^ Damn it!

Everyone’s ignored the race thing. Could be that, or maybe your personality/looks aren’t too appealing?

I used to have a white guy preference, it’s probably a phase and you’ll get over it.

^ I kind of doubt it’s a race thing with a school that’s 99% white, they can’t possibly all be racists…With a school that’s 99% white, a preference for white guys would probably up her chance.

If she’s one of the few black girls at a white school, I would think that that fact would increase her appeal. It means she has very little competition for the guys who are into black girls.

I’m 17 and I’m boyfriendless too. Some guys have said they liked me though, but I didn’t want to have a relationship in high school given my busy schedule.

Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll get a bf in the future. You don’t have to limit yourself to only high school boys; when you’re in college there’ll be a lot more boys around :)

make a list of pros and cons of having a boyfriend and then decide if you actually want one. don’t let your friends’ actions determine your values. but i guess that could be a pro, fitting in with your friends.
