Almost a US. Permanent Resident .. but may have to apply as an international

Hi, I have been living here since I was one. My family' I485 (Perm Resident forms and whatnot) have been in accepted and in review since January of this year. I have a social security number, alien registration number, and a work permit (and have paid taxes). I'm waiting to hear the final deicision (approval/denial) and for the actual green card to come. MY parents predict that it will most likely arrive by the end of this year and will almost certainly arrive by the beginning of next year.
However, if it doesn't arrive, I will have to apply as an international. I'm afraid that this will drastically decrease my already slim chances of being admitted, and that it will obliterate any consideration for financial aid.
Is there any place on the application that I could explain my situation, and will it help me if I do?

Thanks!

You can mention this in the "anything else we should know?" section. Hopefully your green card will come before february (when we go into selection committee) - let us know immediately and we'll adjust your application.

Just so you know, in terms of financial aid there is no difference between domestic and international - MIT is need-blind for all applicants and commits to meeting 100% of demonstrated need for all admits, regardless of whether or not they are US citizens.

thank you so much for the info!

i feel much better about applying to MIT than I was before =]
