Alone at football games

Is it common for people to go to UCLA football games alone? Cuz I want to go to the BYU game at the Rose Bowl this Saturday, but none of my friends are down to go. Just wondering if people often go alone, cuz I imagine it might not be as fun if you go alone.

Cuz if it's not fun to go to a football game alone, I might just stay home.

If you are really going for the football itself, then it should be fine. But if you want to go and chill with your friends while watching, then it won't be the same. I think it always better with at least one other person though.

you should have at least one person to go with...yeah

Is the Rose Bowl assigned seating?

Cuz if it's first come first serve, I'm not going because I won't have anyone to save my seat when I go for food, drinks, bathroom, etc.

when should i buy tickets for a ftbl game? are there announcements? i don't like it when events that i wanna go to are sold out!

I don't think anyone likes it when the tickets to a game they want to attend are sold out...

I'll go with you.

Just need plane tickets.

^ I have $5 bus tickets, does that work? :D

dawritingmachine, I think I can sell you my tickets if I dont go.

So is the Rose Bowl assigned seating or first come first serve (for students)?

Looks like I better get friendly with some truck drivers, again.

Rose Bowl is first come first serve. The only game of the year that isn't is the USC game.

It is first come first serve for the student section. I believe it is assigned if you buy it elsewhere?

YOu are never alone Bruins are family! Its awkward at first but youll find yourself talking and hi five-ing people after the first touchdown... let your guard down

Yeah, back when I was considering buying a football season ticket I wasn't too worried about going to a game alone. As far as I've seen the student section is crammed with students all going crazy anyway, it shouldn't be too hard to befriend the Bruin next to you.

Well, I'm not surprised that YOU would be alone. [/troll]

is there transportation to the football games that is organized by the school? like buses or something?

Yeah they have busses go there. Last year it was $2 a ticket, but I think it was going to go up this year.

ok cool. do you know where the buses meet? i just want to be able to get to the game with all the other students haha. will the buses be available for this game even though school isn't in session yet?

They pick you up between de neve turnaround and the bottom of the covel common stairs. (the long walk that is the backside of Drake Stadium). I forget if the bus leaves 3 or 4 hours before the game (for the first bus)

Wait, never mind. Turns out my frat is organizing a tailgate to the Rose Bowl on Saturday. Problem solved. :D

btw, for those of you taking the buses, the CTO guy told me the buses meet at Lot 32 (near the corner of Gayley and Kinross), NOT at De Neve. This is cuz there's no one at the dorms.

But once people move in, they'll be meeting at De Neve like usual. And bus tickets are $5 roundtrip for students.
