so does anyone know about the status of Butler? Is it still the Honors Dorm, or are the new ones the Honors Dorms?

As far as I know, Yes. But, you can email Dean Brady who might have more information

How is premed at Tulane? Son surprisingly wanted to do a last minute app to Tulane and has been accepted. Pre-med was a surprise, too, as he had never mentioned any career goal till around November. Things change.

Still waiting on UT Austin, but Tulane is suddenly in the running.

We did a purfunctory tour a year and a half ago when he wasn't that interested in college. (His first college tour, forced by dear old dad). We have done no research on the school, as he said after the visit he didn't like it.

How is the grading in pre-med? As far as I know GPA is all important for med school. He has always scored well on standardized tests, so not too worried about the MCAT's.

Texdad, my son is a freshman and pre-med at Tulane. He is taking a killer load this term: bio, chem, physics, and advance Spanish, He also has several labs. In addition, he is a member of the Tulane Emergency Medical Service and is taking courses at Tulane towards obtaining his EMS certification.

While he finds his courses challenging, he was able to maintain straight A's Fall term, and is doing just as well Spring term. He also finds time socialize, play intramural football and soccer, and play his sax once in awhile.

I wont attempt to rank Tulane undergrad for pre-med, but I will point out the obvious: with such a large med. School downtown, your son could do worse.
