Already admitted so how competitive is it to get into UC Irvine's business school?

I got into UC Irvine and I'm planning on majoring in Business Administration. Their Paul Merage School of Business only enrolls 150 students per year so there is always a chance of me not getting in. How competitive/difficult is to get into UCI's business school? I have no desire to study Business Economics if I don't get in so I'm still considering the possibility of going to Cal Poly SLO or SDSU instead where my enrollment into their business schools are almost guaranteed.

?

if you got in to UCI already, it should say what major you were accepted for. the 150 students is just an estimate

only 150 freshman are accepted for Paul Merage school of business?

Wow.. I feel lucky

Seriously? I got in there also and no way in hell do I believe I am qualified compared to other people on here.

No, you guys don't understand the system.

For the first two years at Irvine you have to meet prerequisite requirements. By the time junior year rolls around, then you have to RE-APPLY to get into the business school, which only accepts 150 students a year.

Read: UC Irvine | The Paul Merage School of Business

What are your stats?

The Merage School intends to enroll 150 majors per academic year, beginning in Fall 2008 with freshman enrollees. Applications for transfer students and change of majors will be accepted for the Fall of 2010, with approximately 8-10% of the 150 majors entering per year being transfer students or change of majors (totaling approximately 15 students).

Only 15 get in as transfer/change of major, I believe the rest are admitted as Freshman

The freshman entering in 08 and in 09 are the only freshman ADMITTED into the major, not pre-business. Next year (2010), freshman will be admitted only as pre-business and will have to apply to the major in the spring Q of sophomore year. So yes, it is a big deal to be among the 1525 or so admitted to Business.

Junshik: does this mean you like UCI over UCSD winter?

No, as I don't really plan on majoring in business now. I'm undeclared at UCSD winter, and leaning towards UCSD.

I'm just a bit irky b/c of the winter admit.. but we'll see how it pans out.

so....is anyone accepted to this actually going?
