Already passed Spanish CLEP

I transferred high schools between junior and senior year, and my new school didn't have Spanish IV, so I decided to take a Spanish class at the local college. I didn't want to sit through a class of Spanish that I already knew, so I took the CLEP test and scored a 56, high enough to not take the first two beginning level semesters and go straight to intermediate 1. I passed that class with an A this past semester, and will be taking intermediate spanish 2 this spring semester.

I am nervous that that score of 56 wont be enough at the university I actually go to after high school graduation to place out of their first two spanish classes. Is it possible that they could they make me take beginning level classes even after I pass the whole intermediate level?

Have you already begun researching colleges? If so, you should already have a good idea which of these grant CLEP credit and what their cut-off (passing) scores are. I would guess that if by chance you do end up in a situation where your CLEP score is not worth anything, the foreign language department may allow you to take some kind of placement test so that you can start off where your ability allows.

Good luck in your college search!

Sorry this doesn’t answer your question, but is the spanish clep really hard?
