Already sent in my withdraw card, possible to get into USC again?

All it took was one lecture at UCLA summer school to see that UCLA simply isn't the place for me. Unfortuantely I already sent in my W card to USC saying I intended to attend UCLA.

I am a transfer student with a 3.85 gpa and I was admitted to UCLA Biz/Econ and Marshall.

I soon realized that econ just isn't my major and I would like to go to Marshall to concentrate on entrepreneurship which was my #1 choice anyway but UCLA was more tempting because it was cheaper.

I should have listened to my calc 2 prof who went to UCLA and he said that UCLA sucks :p

I emailed admissions to see what will happen...

how long ago did you send it in? I've seen many cases of schools being flexible with this, so i wouldn't worry too much.

I also think it's a poor decision to withdraw from UCLA (and spend alot more money) just from 1 summer session course. There are awesome and dreadull professors at EVERY US university. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck, though.

well my teacher is supposedly a very good teacher but didn't realize how much i hated econ.

I have heard of students doing that. An older brother of a friend of mine sent his SIR to Cal and rejected UCLA and then realized he wanted to go to UCLA and went to admissions and explained it and they lelt him go to UCLA. It can be done. I would get on it right now if I were you though. Call admissions tomorrow and explain your situation. Good luck. Fight On! Glad u came to ur senses. As someone once told me "don't bruin your life".

i think that if you really want to go to USC, and decide UCLA is not for you (not only because of one class, but because it's not the right "fit"), you should call USC and explain the situation in its entirety. Hopefully they will understand, but if they can't admit you, its because they're out of spots for the fall (which they most likely are---i tried to get a spot for the fall as a spring admit, and they ran out of spots). you can always try for spring admission if that happens.

Last year, someone that was supposed to UCSD changed his mind last minute and decided to go here a few weeks before school started. He called admissions and they let him in--he got housing and everything processed right away.

Unless you've already recieved a response, call them as soon as possible and explain the situation. Be apologetic (don't lay it on) and be persistant; and once you get in, send in the deposit right away! Because they're not going to give you even more leeway if it doesn't come in on time.

HAHA "don't bruin your life"...that's a good one. I would say a shirt like that would be just as sweet as a fUCLA shirt.

fucla does suck...

Moss,

We'd love you come to USC. But just a reminder, you may also have some econ classes to take here. I hope you take that into consideration if that's the only reason you want this change.

Of course you will get much more and thorough business training at Marshall than at UCLA. And I think you should choose Marshall from the beginning:) IMO the tutition difference is not that big considering you are a transfer. Just go with your heart.

Good luck!

I sent in my deposit today. They will let me know if they have room for me or not soon.

it looks like they withdrew my withdraw HEHE

i sent in my deposit so i should get in... how are they gonna deny me with a 3.85 AND saying NO to UCLA? :) they should let me in just because of principle :)

Now you can join the "i turned down UCLA" facebook group, lol.

LOL... yeah

everyone has their reasons... i don't see myself being happy at ucla. plus the quarter system came as a bit of a shock to me since i've always been on the semester system my entire life... i think that had a little bit to do with my decision as well.

UCLA is just lacking when it comes to geographic diversity. I think you'll like the fact that your peers are from different parts of the country. I know I did. :)
