I submitted my Yale app 2 days ago but just got several major statewide awards. I'd really like them to know about these. Should I call the admissions office or send an email?

Oooh...That's rough. I would write write them a letter or have your counselor do it. If you're like me and attend a crappy public high school, your counselor is infected with either incompetence or overwork, so you would probably be best drafting and sending it yourself.

If you attend a more ritzy school, your college counselor would be able to advise you accordingly.

Hope this helps!

Bump...anybody else? Could/should I call the admissions office?

There's no need to call. There is plenty of time to update your file before the SCEA deadline. Send Admissions a letter letting them know you have applied to Yale SCEA, and that since you submitted your application, you have received a new award. Describe it and ask them to update your file by adding the letter. If you have a resume, you should update it,too, and ask them to substitute the new resume for the one you originally submitted.

Be sure to include your name, address, name of your HS, and SS# (if you've provided it) in your letter.
