<p>Depends on why you got suspended.</p>
<p>Depends on the circumstances. Colleges view senior prank offenses differently than cheating. They view drugs differently than fighting. Make the call and get it over with.</p>

<p>I'm not saying fighting isn't serious, but sometimes there is an explanation.... I've never heard a good one for getting caught holding.</p>

<p>Actually drugs usually aren't a big deal. Posession, at least. Distribution is another story. But as my history teacher and former admissions counselor at Harvard once said, "colleges don't really care if you get caught drinking or smoking weed...after all, what do you think college is for?"</p>
<p>Well, I was suspended for physically attacking a student after he attacked me with a ball. You guys think that's a good enough reason to rescind a decision? Prior to this incident, I was never in trouble.</p>
<p>Make it clear that you were assaulted with the ball first, and that it wasn't just a friendly toss, but more of a slug at you. In addition, make sure that it's clear that the person who did slug the ball wasn't going to stop. From my point of view, that's a good enough reason for self defense.</p>
<p>In fact, I've seen a guy get away with kicking and punching someone because the person verbally assaulted the other person first. "Fighting words" are what they're called. I'm sure being attacked with a ball is serious as well.</p>
