@Indian: I'm surprised by your outright rejection at Caltech. I would have thought you would at least be deferred. With excpetion of your UW GPA, everything else you have is considerably strongner or on par with mine (you can see my stats in the EA decision thread in the Caltech forum) and I was deferred. I don't get it. Did you possibly get a lot of Bs or maybe even a couple Cs in math/science classes? Becuase if not, then I am truly shocked.

I think you have a good chance at Dartmouth and MIT probably too. You sound like a really smart person and I really wouldn't sweat it. You'll get into a great school. :) You better get in because if you don't, what kind of chances are there for the rest of us? LOL. Good Luck!!!

I wish I had seen your post earlier to give you some encouragement. My husband interviews students for MIT and has done so for over 10 years. Last year he interviewed a student with stats very close to yours ( including being Indian) and he got waitlisted. But - he finally got in. I suggest that you keep on updating the admissions office with your latest information. Also - if you had a good interview with an Educational Counselor, you might consider updating them as well and asking them to put in a good word for you. I do agree with an earlier post - that your GPA is a bit low. Test scores seem to be ok. Do you have any athletics or non-geek activities that you have participated in that you did not mention before? MIT is looking for extremely well-rounded individuals in many different areas - not just academics and technology.
