I would say the reason is your ACT score. While a 28 is a good score, SS is based heavily on the academic part of the WCS, so having really good academic stats is important to getting into SS. Study hard and dominate the ACT, that’s all I’ve got

A letter of assurance means that you are assured of admission if you get a nomination. If they are really interested in you they will send you one.

Thanks, I figured it was the sports or the ACT, and I am working on getting ready for the cfa, (able to do pull ups easier every week!) and I’m taking the ACT and SAT again this summer in June, should I wait to get those scores back and see if they’re higher before I send my stuff in? I’ll get them around August ish, but that seems really late in the game to me. I took the ACT again last Saturday, but I felt kinda mixed about it. I’ll get those scores in June, when’s the best time to send things in? Oh and I’m working on getting my Private pilot’s license by mid summer, will that help at all?

Just send in scores as you get them, they take your best scores, so update when you have better scores in any area

The private pilot won’t HURT you, but you’ll not be the only one applying with one. It won’t make you stand out, especially, among your peers.
