Alright... I need a professional's opinion.

Ha. Just kidding. I want your help...

Ok. So my mother wants me to take the ACTs. Not really sure why, but all my friends are taking it and I guess she feels like it would be a good thing. I kindof feel the same way.

My guidance counselor said that if I don't mind taking tests, there would be no reason for me not to try it. He said I'd probably do very well.

My Math SAT tutor said I would be able to do very well on it as well.

My English SAT tutor, however, told me to forget about it. I don't need it. I took SATII's. Most kids don't do as well as they think they will because of the science section.

SAT score (March): 2070 (680cr 690m 700w)
SAT II (May): Biology M and Math 1C

I excell in sciences. Which would be the only reason I would say that I should take them.

In addition to this, I was wondering whether or not I should take the ACT +writing.

My essay was a 10 in March.

AHHH HELP! Any advice is good advice since the registration deadline is on Friday.

If money and time aren't a concern, then take it.

just take it. It can only help you. If you do worse, you can just submit your collegeboards and if you do better, you can submit your ACT in lieu of your SAT I. The science section is simply data interpretation. Oh, and if you do the ACT + writing depends on the college, so that's entirely up to you.

Well is it scorechoice for the ACT?

Do I have to send my score in if I take it, like with the SATs?

Scorechoice means that unlike the gay SAT, you can choose which ACT test scores to submit. The SAT scores you receive (any and all of them) are sent to the colleges you apply to. If you don't like a certain score on the ACT test, you can choose to trash them AFTER you receive your scores, versus before you receive them on the SAT.

Wow. So I signed up... it's good that I can trash my score if Idon't like it.

Make your mother happy. She loves you.

science doesnt really have much to do with science... its more like interpretting data and such... nothing that comes from memory

i guess 345 people including me think we are professionals...

...at what i don't know yet lol!

I'm not taking the ACT, even though I live in the south where everyone takes it.

Students who do well in science class may do better on the ACT than the SAT because it is more oriented to analytical thinking. If you do extremely well on the ACT, you don't need to submit your SAT scores. And, yes, take the optional writing. Because if you get a high ACT score and decide not to submit your SAT scores (which are quite good already), then the SAT writing score would not be submitted. Also, although you have already taken some SAT II's, many colleges don't require any SAT II's if you take the ACT. And, yes, you may selectively suppress ACT scores which you cannot do with the SAT.
