Alright, I need some major help....

My SAT scores came in today, and they're utter crap. I went DOWN seventy points, and I need to start sending in my scores. My ACT score was a 30. Decent, but I could've done better.
My subjects
English Lit: 680
Bio M: 640
Spanish: 780
not great, but not terrible.
the schools im applying to:
Middlebury
University of Virginia
NYU Poly
Williams
Amherst
Tufts
RPI
Vassar
Columbia

Now, for middlebury, uva, amherst, tufts and rpi...I'm only going to send in my ACT scores
for Vassar, NYU Poly, Williams and Columbia, I'm going to send in ALL my scores

but i'm wondering if i'm screwing up and if maybe i should just send in my SAT Subjects with the act scores for those schools where im only sending act

but I can't afford to send in so many scores. the grand total if i send in everythign to all of them is 242, but the way i have it planned now is just 172. which is a big difference for my low income family. i already ahd to drop several schools because of money and i've narrowed it down to these.

any advice? is my plan a bust? or should i just cough up the money?

vassar is my first choice by the way

and my [other] stats are
4.3 GPA weighted, 3.8 unweighted
ranked 14 out of 522

Both UVA and RPI recommend SAT IIs regardless of whether you send SAT or ACT so definitely send the IIs to them because your scores are good for those. Middlebury is an either/or-- it will determine admission either by your ACT (or SAT) or by three SAT IIs (you can send only the IIs if you want). If you send the ACT and the three SAT IIs you essentially have two chances of being admitted – if they believe the ACT is better for you they will use it, if they believe the three SAT IIs are better for you, they will use them. For Tufts you have option of sending ACT or alternatively SAT and SAT IIs so unless you want to send it your SAT there is no reason to send the IIs. Also consider that NYU Poly does not use SAT IIs for admission so you can send only ACT

Yeah, I just realized that when I checked RPIs website, so that means that I’ll be sending all my scores to: UVA, Williams, Vassar, RPI, and Columbia.
I don’t know whether to send my subjects for NYU Poly. I know they’re not required, but they do use them for placement.
I would be sending JUST my Act scores to: Middlebury, Amherst, and Tufts (maybe NYU Poly as well).

What do you think I should do for NYU Poly?

I would just do ACT for NYU Poly because it won’t use subject tests for admission and a 30 is a good score for it. For placement you can then just send them after you are admitted if you decide to attend.

Thanks for the advice. I may end up not applying to UVA, just because its one that I’m iffy about. Thanks, you’ve been a lot of help.
