What do you think? Thanks guys.

Just gonna go ahead and bump this >.<

to be honest it is a reach. If I were you I would take the act again and apply later. Maybe try to do this upcoming act standby? Not sure if you are IS or OOS though. So all in all, I would take the act again, try to get 30 or higher, and then apply. btw what college?

wow nvm i didn’t read the beginning of your post. even though your IS I still think it’s a reach because you would be at the 25 percentile for act. Write awesome essays, and try to get that 30!

I said that in the post: College of Engineering In State.

How is a 29 a reach? The ACT ranges I’ve seen are 27-31.

A bit late to change my ACT score. I’ve taken it 4 or 5 times now.

Edit:
Hah. I actually just submitted. I feel confident about my essays.

How is that a 29? 34+31+27+30=122

122/4=30.5

IMO, regardless, it’s a target.

The common app takes your highest score from each. 29 has been my highest composite. The U of M Admissions Director said the ACT alone can’t disqualify you, but I dunno.

Oh, I thought you were saying that those scores were from a single sitting…sorry.

It’s no problem :)

Do you think that hurts me?

Dude, personally I think it’s gonna be tough. First of all, you’re applying to CoE, one of the top colleges in the nation and it’s pretty hard to get in there. You need to have pretty stellar stats for it. Second, whereas your ACT is somewhat alright, your rank is in the top 20%. I don’t know how Michigan looks at rank, but that seems a bit low for Michigan’s range. If you were applying for LSA, then you would have had a much better shot, but you’re not. But then again, I’m no admissions counselor and I hope I’m wrong. Good luck!

I would agree with that. I think LSA is a target. CoE is gonna be rough.

I wouldn’t be too worried. You have decent and many AP scores which shows the rigor of your schedule. Your EC’s aren’t too shabby either. President of NHS will be impressive. Plus, you have a relevant internship.

HOWEVER, the fact that those ACT scores come from different sittings will hurt you. Your GPA is fairly low, but I think for in-state, with the EC’s you have, you should get in.
