Alta Bates Interview

What exactly do they ask you during the interview besides department placement? Is it hard to get a spot?
Also what are you suppose to wear? It seems suit/tie would be too formal for a volunteer position like this.

I wore a full sleeve collared shirt and khaki pants. You practically have a spot if your times coincide with the times that the department needs volunteers during. Just don’t mention any chronic health problems. She’ll ask what you would do if a patients’ relative is crying or something. Some other basic questions. Not much to worry about.

Whoa, you have to interview to volunteer. That’s so strange. I wouldn’t wear a suit/tie.

lol. i think i had worn shorts to my interview. it was super casual and she just asked basic questions about confidentiality or stuff like mariokart mentioned ^^

How likely are you able to get the position at a location that you want? I really want to volunteer at one of the Berkeley campuses (Herrick or Ashby)

Also I was thinking about volunteering as either ER Liaison, Family Resources center, small voices, occupational therapy, or pulmonary subacute unit. Does anyone have any experiences in these areas, or have a suggestion of a different department? Thanks.

woah!! i did not know that berkeley has a clinic…how do we get a volunteering position? is it hard to get the position? when should we sign up for it?
im an incoming freshman next fall
