alternate list - what all can one do?

I am an international student from India.
A couple of weeks ago, I sent CMC a letter stating what all I had done since January (when I applied). Do you think I should do something else? Anything they like.. each school likes a certain activity.. maybe I can get into something and write to them about it..

Excellent... sending a letter was the right thing to do. There's not really much else you can do but wait. And in the meantime, you NEED to consider about other options. Don't let a rejection crush your dreams for the future.

Best,

Sammy

Apparently, one could do nothing, seeing a how they didn't take anyone off the wait list this year. Good luck if you decide to transfer

How do you know they didn't take anyone off the wait list this year?

Letter sent out - not using the wait list. Although their numbers are very close and if they get any significant summer melt... they may need to take a person or two.

The letter they sent out at the end of May did not actually say that they were not taking anyone off of the waiting list. It talked about the number of students who have made an enrollment decision to attend CMC this fall compared to the number they plan to have in the freshman class. The letter also told the student who received that letter that he/she was not going to be taken off of the waiting list this summer. But what we don't know is whether CMC reached its enrollment number by taking 5-10-20 students off of the waiting list earlier in the month of May.

My S called mid-May and learned that CMC had not yet decided to use the Wait List and was delaying the decision until late May/early June. When he received the letter in late May, we assumed it indicated CMC had decided to not use the WL at that point.

I agree the letter leaves a little room for hope - a miniscule amount.

did the letter say how many were goin to be at CMC next fall?

The letter did indicate next year's class size, but we didn't save the letter...
