Alternate List

Right, my point exactly. So hopefully there’s a little more waitlist activity this year than in previous years! :)

CMC offered spots in the class of 2014 to 732. To fill a class of 315 it would need an accept rate of 42%. The accept rate in 2008 was 40%. If there are any offers extended to alternative list applicants there will be very few.

I’m a current CMCer, and in the past couple of years, only one student has gotten off the waitlist as a freshman. It may be different this year–who can accurately predict trends, right?–but chances are still very, very slim.

Info about CMC’s admits for 2014 can be found here:

[17% Admitted for 2014 Class The Forum](http://cmcforum.com/news/04082010-17-admitted-for-2014)

As for the waitlist thing, I know a lot of people who got off of the waitlist. Of course, I’m class of 13 so it might be different for us than past classes. Either way, I’d imagine there’s a significant, but not necessarily big, chance that waitlisted individuals might get a spot.

On another thread, CMC is listed as a college NOT going to its waitlist this year.

Yes, they sent an e-mail out to those on the alternate list stating that they had over-enrolled and do not expect to use the list this year.

Letter just went out from Dean Vos regarding the stats of the incoming class, 17% admit rate and 42% yield.
