Alternate Major for impacted Majors?

Hi,

I applied to CPP as a transfer student for Fall 2014.
My GPA is subpar. I only have a 3.44.
I applied as a Kinesiology, Exercise Science major (impacted), and I put in Kinesiology, Health Promotion (non-impacted) as my alternate major.
Do any of you know how they deal with alternate majors?

I’d appreciate any input. :)

If you got rejected to your major but they have room in the alternative major, you can go into that… Suppose that there are less competitive people than you. Though I have never heard of someone getting in as an alternative major.

what xxcapital said. There have been one or two people on here I’ve seen that got into their alternate major. I guess it might help more if they were two entirely different disciplines though

I applied as Mechanical Engr. with low stats act 18 4.04 w gpa. I hope they will consider my alternate major since ME is impacted I doubt it tho :(

@clu2014 Your stats aren’t “low”. Considering you’re applying as an incoming freshman, you have better chances of getting into your major compared to transferees like me. Good luck!

@ilikefluffcats I hope you are right but I havent heard anything back from them. Good luck to you and I hope we both get in :)

@clu2014 Hey, I got my admission letter the other day. I got into my major and desired emphasis. Have you heard back yet?

@ilikefluffycats. How do you know you were admitted with your desired emphasis?

@mum4college- it will say on the acceptance email. the Major and the “emphasis” below it.
