Yeah, and we people here in Illiniois can only watch and envy Texas' great rules.

....although U of Illinois is better than UT.......

Yeah, and we people here in Illiniois can only watch and envy Texas' great rules.

....although U of Illinois is better than UT.......

psshhh.
Only because of all the stupid people filling up UT with the top 10% rule.
For example, in my school, only the top 5 or so people are smart.
The other 52 kids are...not.
At all.

Duke

Harvard (HA yeah right if I can't get into Pton already...)

^^ You may still manage Harvard. I got waitlisted (and then deferred) by Harvard and I got into Princeton regular decision. I have to assume it goes both ways. Probably would have ended up getting rejected by Harvard if I didn't pull my application before a decision was made.

I am surprised no one's said Johns Hopkins.

To have Harvard as a backup to Princeton makes some sense, I think. Although, it's the same vice versa. Johns Hopkins is more like a medical school, isn't it? So maybe the people who posted here just aren't majoring in medicine.

whoaa nelle!! (HAHAHA) oxford is amazing.... i second omz's request for you to come back and tell us if you got in. good luck :D

JHU is not a medical school... although it does have one of the best in the nation and the best Biomedical Engineering program in the nation as well...

I'd like to see Duke better represented on y'all's lists!

Princeton ED (accepted, trying to wiggle out by citing not enough financial aid support)
Harvard (I have an uncle that is a professor, I should be able to get in)
Yale
UPenn
Cornell
Dartmouth
Duke
Johns Hopkins
Brown
MIT
UF
Columbia (MAYBE, it's in a not-so-nice part of New York lol)

Calculus...why are you trying to wiggle out of Princeton ED? Why did you apply in the first place?

ahhh calculus that is so sad! someone could have had your spot! is princeton your first choice?

Dang it, calculus! Ok, I'm not blaming you....but man, someone could have had your spot. No offense if it's a personal decision, though.
I sure hope there's not much people like that....or else i'd be really....grhhhh.

glorytogod, why are you not blaming him? He signed an ED agreement that clearly stated that Princeton was his first choice and he would matriculate if admitted.
Calculus, if you try to wiggle out of this binding contract, Harvard probably will not accept you (as someone else said).
Why would you even apply ED if it was not your first choice? You should have gone EA at Harvard. It is just not fair to all of those ED applicants for whom Princeton really is their first choice.
Sorry to be so harsh, but I think what you're planning to do is not right. Just think about it.

Yeah, you're right, btlesgirl. Then I guess calculus, you should not have done so.
And yeah, btlesgirl brings up a good point...you signed an ED agreement, don't lose your credibility. Something tells me Harvard will know about your scheme.

yeah calculus, there are so many of us that really want to go to P-ton that could have had your spot, if harvard was your first choice you should have gone EA there
on a different note i am applying to:
Brown
Cornell
Colgate
Harvard
Williams
SUNY Geneseo (safety)
the U of R (safety)
and maybe Amherst and Yale

I did not apply to Princeton Early Decision, but I have some things to say.

I don't think that they're going to buy that. Princeton is one of the most generous colleges with financial aid; something tells me that they won't believe that someone with a 120k+ income and Princeton financial aid would not be able to afford the school. In addition, the Early Decision contract is binding, meaning that you must attend Princeton.

Even if you somehow got out of the Early Decision agreement and were accepted at Harvard (which would imply that they didn't find out about this), you would still have to hide your dishonesty during your matriculation, since Harvard can rescind you at any time.

I've seen your posts on other parts of the forum, and I can't say that you've rubbed off on me very well at all. Your posts reek of selfishness, and this most recent development only corroborates my opinion of you. You played Princeton in order to increase your chances for admission, and now you are backing out of an agreement at the last minute just because you feel like it. This shameful behavior does not suggest that you would be beneficial to the community at neither Harvard nor Princeton. You took a spot from someone else who was ACTUALLY committed to the school, unlike you. That person's life has been changed forever. Think about that. You probably won't care though. I hope that for your sake nobody decides to report you because you stupidly revealed your grand plan on an online forum.

Congratulations on your Princeton acceptance.

If I had applied ED to Princeton and gotten deferred... I'd be ****ed off right now.

Defend yourself, Calculus.. Why are you trying to wiggle out of Princeton?

calculus- words cant even express my low opinion of you. as someone who was deferred and is now literally going to be killing herself with work over the next few months to have a good shot RD, i can honestly say that taking someone else's spot was dirty and underhanded. you should NOT have apped ED if you knew you wouldn't matriculate if accepted. in terms of financial aid, have you even tried to contact admissions to see if you can get more aid? i would be shocked if they would not try to help you, because i know princeton has an amazing aid program (its one of the "pro" factors on my list of why i apped ED). i hope you seriously think about the reprocussions of your actions.

on another note....my other colleges:

pton (obviously, deferred)
dartmouth (amazing policy debate program)
northwestern
duke!!! hahaha bluedevil
cornell
colgate
miami of ohio

Alternative schools:
1. Princeton (deferred)
2. Johns Hopkins--there you go
3. Williams
4. Rice
5. Wheaton (IL)
6. Kentucky (full ride)

Don't feel like typing my whole list, but I'm loving Rice right now. Especially since it's like it's my own special little place (i live in upstate NY. Nobody ever gets farther than Northern Pennsylvania schools).
