Alternative Schools

I'm looking for schools similar to Hampshire -- no grades or distribution requirements, really intellectual, sort of crunchy and politically active.

So far, I have: Reed, Hampshire, New College of Florida, Evergreen. Can anyone else give me a few more schools?

Whitman 10char

Keep in mind that Reed does have grades and distribution requirements.

Sarah Lawrence College
Brown
UC Santa Cruz

maybe marlboro, colorado college, and pitzer? i dont know about core requirements for those schools though.

College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, ME

also st. johns college

Brown?

/**********/

im lookin for a college right on the water somewhere on the east coast .... any suggestions?

The New School/Eugene Lang in NYC

Also the New College in Florida. And I want to second Sarah Lawrence. Also, re: Reed, they do have grades, but they aren't shown and as far as I know most people there chose not to look at them. It's true that they do have distribution requirments.

What are you interests? College of the Atlantic is right on the water and fits your style desires, but is mostly focused on environmentalism. That makes it great for those who want that and not so much for those who do not.

Bennington

... and Warren Wilson.

Try Marlboro College in Vermont, it looks like a very cool place for self-directed students.

Guilford, Bard, Bennington
