I was wondering, what if I had no summer internship this summer. I don't even know what I should do over the summer if I don't have a summer internship. Of course, I don't want to work at the bank as a teller, I want a part-time job related to Finance. My lack of getting a internship is because of my poor GPA (2.85), most internships require at least a 3. It seems I am out of options, I have applied through online job boards(Indeed, Juju, Simply Hired), different financial services firms, insurance agencies, and banks. Time is running out on finding an internship since it's almost May. Anybody that lives in Chicago have some suggestions for what to do in the summer.

Same problem here. I might try looking for a work position on campus for the summer. Or do an unpaid internship and maybe work another part-time job for $$.

Work at a bank as a teller. It’s related to finance though tenuously. One of the things that helps you get internships and jobs is having previous job experience. So it would give you a better shot next summer.

^ I agree with his comment. If I remember correctly, employers in the finance industry like to see people with working experience as tellers. Not sure where I saw the comment but I find it to make sense somewhat.
