This is my situation. I'm 20 years old and have spent 3 semesters at college before quitting, and I didn't end on great terms grade-wise. Well, I didn't exactly quit; I was originally only going to take a semester off for temporary part-time employment. So I got a job, and eventually withdrew from college. This is where I am currently.

A little about myself: I am very good with computers, and want to major in computer science. I am interested in Uconn for CS, but with my grades, I know I will not be accepted directly as a transfer student.

I am therefore seeking alternate paths to becoming a matriculated student at Uconn. I do not know how much of my previously earned credit can be transferred to Uconn, so I have no idea how long I will have to spend there to earn a Bachelors.

I am hoping I have not wasted 1.5 years of college credit.

I looked into going to Uconn by route of my local community college through a transfer program they have. The only problem with that is the program is meant for students with less than 16 earned-credits. I have far more than that.

Is it possible to attend Uconn as a non-matriculated student by taking a few classes, and then somehow become a matriculated student by earning my acceptance while I'm there?

I am in a rather tough situation, and if anybody has any suggestions for me, I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you.
