Alternatives to Applying Computer Science/Engineering?

I want to apply computer science to a lot of fairly hard schools. I did decent on my ACT and have a good GPA, but did horrible on my subject tests. I know I have a fairly okay chance of getting into the schools I want to go to with different majors, but with engineering being a lot harder, I’m in trouble. I need help to decide if computer science is really the best route, and also if there is any good alternative majors that are sort of similar and that would be easier. Also, are there certain engineering majors that are easier to get into? Lastly, are there any other colleges I’m missing that would fit me for computer science? Thanks a lot for the help!

Your ACT composite is competitive along with your UC GPA. Race not considered by California public schools so no bump there. Private schools will appreciate your diversity. Santa Clara may be an option.
I would not send the SAT subject tests.

UC’s are very GPA focused so it does help your chances however you are smart realize that CS/Engineering are tough admits.
ACT Math score will be an issue and hopefully the retake will help.
Not sure which private schools you are targeting, but I see no safety school and mainly Reach schools.
You need to apply widely so I would add UCSC snd UCR to the list. I assume you live in CA so consider San Jose State for Software Engineering and also SLO instead of CS. General Engineering may also be an option for SLO.
I might add CSU Long Beach and San Diego State to the list.
Best of luck
