Alternatives to Filmmaking

ive been interested in film for awhile now and its by far what im best at and what comes most natural to me, but id prefer not to live on $18000 a year if i can avoid it. so before i apply to film school does anybody know of a different profession that uses a lot of the same skills as a filmmaker--creatively, that is. i was thinking of something in marketing or possibly game design, but i really have no idea.

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

How about videography and photography?

There are aspects of film that aren't as much of a gamble as directing like editing/cinematography. These fields are always in need of talent and can be very lucrative. You mentioned film school - getting into a good film school greatly increases your chance of success in the industry. It is by no means a guarantee, but you seem to have a genuine interest in film, so I would say continue with your passion, atleast on the side if you choose to pursue something else. Great filmmakers would agree that success always involves a certain amount of risk-taking. Good Luck!
