::sigh:: One day the CCers will discover the Jolt and will erode into the heartless, gutless, perverted, (insert more adjectives here) memebers of those forums...

titcr

This Is The Credited Response.

Used on discussion boards (at least on *******) when a respondent makes a statement that is either poignant, valid or otherwise hilarious. It is what someone writes after another person makes a well reasoned or an on-point observation in the course of a thread.
Origin: Likely reference to standardized test questions in which there are multiple wrong answer choices, but only one credited response.
Those who use this term are generally of high intelligence, but completely overly occupied with the nuances of the admissions process. Most need to get a life and stop wasting their youth posting on anonymous admissions related boards.

I love you Jimbo.

well said, jimbo. i think all of us need a life outside online message boards like this.

damn, i haven't even got 100 posts.

icebox, it's only well-said because i have about 1800 posts to my name...if i werent good at this yet then id really need help

I post a ton, but about 435 of my 450 have been since I am a student at Brown helping others. I didn't start posting until July before I got in (though I am registered before hand because I found out some kids from a summer program I got into were posting in here, in the old style forums though I only made one post there).

oh. yes, you were helping out.. hence, you can force others to conform to your way of putting things into words. =)

sorry, i wasn't aware that 'TITCR' is such a degrading term to use. or is it?

anyway, i'm not gonna hijack the thread. please continue with the discussion.

ilovebrown, as soon as i wrote that post, i knew it would be misinterpreted.(but i was too lazy to go back and edit) Yes, Brown has alot to offer, as does any other top 25 school. What seperates Brown from the other 24: the open curriculum. Could you be happy at Brown if you don't like the open curriculum? yes. Would you be happier elsewhere? there's a good chance. I'm speaking from my personal opinions during the college process, during which I got the feeling that if i didnt care so much about course requirements there were a ton of schools that were almost identical to Brown, however the open curriculum meant so much to me, that Brown was an obvious first choice. I apologize for my poor diction in the earlier post.

Sorry if I came across as trying to tear you apart or anything -- I see what you mean now.

I do agree that the open curriculum is the primary thing that sets Brown apart from similar schools. However, I'd suggest that a lot of things that (arguably) follow directly from the open curriculum, such as the particularly laid-back student body and the numerous opportunities for independent academic exploration, etc, could appeal to people who don't like the "no requirements" part of the open curriculum. There are also a number of things which are unique to Brown or not commonly found among peer schools (the Providence environment, for example) which could also draw some people who would otherwise be equally happy at a similar school like Yale or Wesleyan.

why praise jimbob for stealing an urbandictionary entry?

Yeah, you just copied and pasted it and then took credit for it, you moron.

That's too bad I thought that was his own. In that case i retract that comment and have a new found love for the Urban Dictionary (although, I thought we were all in love with Urban Dictionary anyway)...
