Altman Program - Skype Interview

My son applied to the Altman Program and was contacted to have a Skype interview. If anyone has gone through this interview process, what kind of questions should he expect?

@april10

I can’t recall anyone ever getting specific about the questions, but I do remember a couple of people saying it was a pleasant conversation, not a grilling. However, I don’t think there is anything at all wrong if your son wants to look at the current list of Altman Scholars, which he can find within the Altman section of the Tulane site, and email one or two of the first year scholars and ask a couple of questions to prepare himself. I think he should keep it general rather than ask for specifics, since you never know how someone might perceive the latter. But I can’t see anything wrong with taking some initiative. Of course, he needs to do this himself.

Oh, and congrats on him getting the interview. That in itself says he has an impressive record.

He has already met with some of the students in the program. Hopefully he’s prepared for the interview!

The best thing any student can do in any interview of this nature is be themselves and be relaxed, natural. They really are looking to find a student that supports their initial judgement and what is on paper, not reasons to rule him out.
