did anyone else get a call from an alum trying to convince you that you should pick stanford? i don't really need convincing at this point, but it was still nice :)

No, I didn't receive one.

I guess they don't want me :-(

Yeah I got one, and apparently there's going to be a banquet or something for early admits from the Seattle area.

I didn't get one either, but many of my parents' friends and collegues that went to Stanford have contacted me to say congrats. The networking is already great, but no alum calls.

I got one today too. She didn't mention anything about a LA banquet though :(.

So what did these alums say. Give some interesting details.

STANFORD ROCKS!

Nothing too much actually. She just said "congrats on getting into Stanford," if you have any questions please ask. She also gave me her contact info if I have any more questions. But it was still cool to see Stanford begging at our feet instead of the opposite as was the case about a month ago.

lol, "begging at our feet," sorta exagerrated dontcha think?

You know what I mean ;).

hahahaha, yup i do

im still paranoid about rejection tho, like what if my grades drop a ton...or what if they dig up some dirt on me, like that time i stole the lunch box from the store when i was 5 years old....

o hey, i got my call yesterday while i wasnt home
the lady left a message, and she said that there was gonna be a party for admitted students and their family at universal citywalk on feb 16th

anybody else going?

sniffle. i didnt get a call...

Anybody else get a letter from the admissions officer/alumni? They even had a personalized thing about your application.

really?? what'd it say? like, we picked you because of insert characteristic here?

AHHHHHH! WHY DIDN'T I GET ANYTHING????? THEY MUST NOT REALLY WANT ME...i'm gonna cry now...no call, no letter, no party...

its okay neemi. we can make our own "stanford doesnt really want us" club.

no it was a standard letter about stuff like admit weekend and a reminder about the website and a bunch of stuff like that, and then they wrote in with pen at the bottom stuff like "I hope you continue to be active in ___" and "I know you will like _"

juzam_djinn, I live in LA and the alum who called me did not mention the city walk party. I wonder if they will mail/call us specific information about it later...

yea im pretty sure they will, they said they would send more info via mail about it

wow! a party at citywalk? that's hot!
nah, no alum call. or maybe my non-english-speaking mother scared the person.
I got the "personalized" letter where they have this writing in blue ink and it looks written on but i doubt it is. it's personal but general at the same time, and it left a cell phone '#. so whatever. cool

any details on the citywalk party?> are you fo real, juzam? that's dope!
