Alumni and the Admissions process

If I happen to be a little below average regarding admission standards, but my father attended UW, will that help my chances?

Thanks!

Also, I am out of State (VA)

I’m also interested in responses to this. Any port in a bloody storm!!!

From what I understand, alumni parents are considered but only as a “scale-tipper.” If you’re on the edge, it might be a nudge. But it won’t make up for deficiencies in your record.

Am I right on this, veterans?

Formal response from the Admissions Office on this issue and others.

Correct beastman. A small tipper–but a real one.
