Alumni called yesterday, Int today?

Someone from the alumni board called me yesterday and told me that she had time today, monday, or tuesday. Do they usually give such short notice? Or just to the people they don’t really care about so they give them short notice…!!!

i’m so worred about what this means and everything.

I got called for an interview on Thursday, and we set up an interview for the next day.

My interviewer told me that they just need to get all their write-ups in before Thanksgiving. So either they just want to get a head-start, or they have a lot of people to interview.

Just chill out. It's probably fine.

kliuless, what are "write-ups". Are those reference letters to the adcoms? If so, do all interviewers write them (or the majority of interviewers)? Thanks

KRabble - Yeah, all interviews gets written up by the interviewer and sent to the adcom. They say it's not a major factor unless things went very badly or very well. But whatever they say about interviews being a relaxed thing, etc - they're still evaluating you. There are some schools where interviews are just informational and carry no weight, but that's not the case here.

That's so funny.. my friend's Spanish teacher (chairman of the language department at our school and very smart guy) told him that interviews are mainly to see if the applicant has the "crazies" or has anything really socially wrong with him/her. I guess that's one way to put it, right?

My friend who's now at Penn said that his friend's interviewer told him, "Oh, don't worry about a thing! You'll get in without a doubt." And it turns out he didn't get in.

Bottom Line: Many Penn students I met said that the interview is more for a time for you to ask questions about Penn and not the other way around.

My interview was about 1/2-1/2 (1/2 me, 1/2 Penn). And it was casual--no notes were taken or anything like that.

So I'm thinking that, yeah, the interview's primary purpose is to be a "red flag" to the AdCom if the applicant is om...well if he "has the crazies."

my interview was sooo short. only 20 minutes...and i kinda babbled like a witch. she only had a couple of ?s for me...i totally overprepared for this! and she talked to me as if she were introducing penn to me. i wanted to shout "I KNOW ALL THIS!" because i'm afraid that she will write that i didn't know penn very well and blahblahblah...
