Alumni Interview after acceptance?

Hi all,

So I got accepted into UMich Engineering a few days ago, and just today I received an email from an alumni asking for an interview. He says, “…and showcase anything that you feel is important that the applications committee should know about you.” so it makes me feel like he is not yet aware that I’ve been accepted or there was some miscommunication between the admissions office and alumni interview office. I have never heard of alumni interviews happening after someone’s been accepted, so I was wondering if the email was a mistake.

If it is a mistake, should I inform the alumni that an interview won’t be necessary since I’ve already been accepted?

My son got a second interview invite after doing one in November. He emailed and they said they sent it to him by mistake. He was accepted Friday.

Well, it’s a good opportunity to pump him for information about being a student there, if he’s still willing.

I was interviewed a day before my acceptance. Highly doubt that the interview factored into my admission decision.
