Alumni interview process?

I know it's normal to get interview requests at different times or even not get one at all, but most of the kids in my school have already at least been contacted (if they haven't done it already - most of them have).

I haven't heard anything from Harvard, Princeton, or Yale, and I thought maybe it was because I live outside of my school's city. One of my friends lives in the same neighborhood as me though and she's already done hers.

So my question is not necessarily whether or not this is normal (because I'm assuming it is, although that doesn't calm me down at all), but how interviews are assigned in the first place. They say that not having an interview won't hurt your chances, but I would love to do an interview, so I'm a little bummed about this and am hoping that I'll get some requests in the next few weeks. So, back to the q...does anyone know how they're assigned?

I’m an interviewer. I know that my area has way too many applicants this year, so they’re assigning chunks of students to alums as they volunteer, but it’s not enough yet. They’re sending out appeals for more alums to join in and help. Usually I get three or four names. This year I’ve gotten five and there’s still a big group they’re trying to assign. I don’t know where you are, but hopefully they’re just booked up and they’ll get to you soon!
