alumni interview thank you notes

I'd like to write a thank you note for an alumni interview I had. If I just email it to the alumni, would the admissions office also get a copy (i.e. would he forward it to them)? If not, would it be better if I send it to the admissions office and have them forward a copy to the alumni (so that the admissions office would have a chance to see the nice things I wrote about them in the note)?

No.

The admissions office doesn’t need a copy of your thank you note. Simply e-mail it to the person who interviewed you WITHIN 24 hours. Interviewers sometimes write their evaluations and submit them online immediately after interviewing you, so the sooner you thank them, the better. Snail mail takes far too long and is unnecessary.
