Alumni Interview .

So like I finally got some kind of email from an alumnus that said...

Hi Lilmelonred,

My name is ....... and I'm a Cornell alumni in the area that
regularly meets with applicants. Though this is not a formal
interview, it is a chance to ask candid questions about social and
academic life at Cornell or to share things that may not have fit into
your application. I was a Physics and Astronomy in the College of
Arts and Sciences; I graduated in 2003..

Contact meetings last about an hour or so. I live off the ................and usually do these meetings at a coffee shop near me. I'm available most weekdays after 7pm in .....or possibly this coming Sunday (Feb 10). Meetings must be held by the 15th, though.

Please let me know if you would like to meet and what times/place are
good for you. We could also just talk over the phone, considering the weather this weekend

Looking forward to meeting you,

So like how should I respond back? I would like to do it on sunday or monday but i think his schedule doesn't really fit mine on the weekdays. Should I just do phone call? If this isn't a formal interview, whats the point of this? Will he/ she have to fill out a report for me as well?

You’re very privileged to receive such feedback from a great school… I’d assume that phone interviews are acceptable since it’s just an alumnus… Normal person, not a college admission officer hah

I emailed the interviewer but did not respond yet. Should I call?

I say you miss school or do whatever to make a solid impression if its your top choice. If its not number 1, do it over the phone.

Alright i’m still waiting for him/her to respond.

Would it be a good idea to give the interviewer my contact number too since he/ she gave me theirs? or I shouldn’t for privacy reasons? we are meeting up for the interview
