Hey. I know there have been threads on this, but oh well, I'll try anyway. I have my interview tomorrow, and I was wondering what types of questions I should ask. I already applied, so obviously I know I like the school. What other things do I need to know? Also, my interviewer graduated from a dif school that the one I applied to. Should that make any differences in what I ask and how she can answer? Any suggestions about questions would be great! thanks!!

Wait sorry, but did you ask for an interview?

yes, but like months ago.

My alumnus just called me up in December and asked me to meet with him. He also didn't know how to answer any of my questions. Stick to very basic questions about campus life and stuff. They, unless they majored in it themselves, know nothing about academic programs.

i got contacted for one today by email... it called it a "meeting" though, and said that the report would not become a formal part of my application... whatever that means... it's an interview in disguise! haha :)

"it" called it.. hahaha

sorry, just struck me funny :) good luck!

your interview has very little weight, unless you are applying to Hotel, but I think that one is held on campus, so if you aren't applying to Hotel don't worry about the interview many people get accepted even without an interview, i did

yes it's called a "meeting" now. but don't worry much because i heard that it's not that important.

some good questions are, how did you like your experience at cornell, how bad is the weather (seriously), did you ever have trouble getting the classes you wanted, what did you major in, is is really THAT hard like people say it is, etc. etc. be yourself and they'll love you

its weird cause i never requested an interview, but i was contacted?

Is it because you people submitted apps much before the deadline?

i submitted mine the day be4 it was due

If I decline an interview , would it be bad?

it wouldn't be bad at all, seeing as how interviews are not required for admission decisions

lol yea it would be bad, what are you talking about mcortex88. If they are offereing an interview it is for a reason.

Do the interview unless you really cant do it.

incredibly amazing interview = acceptance ???

Absolutely not. Like I said, it is not required for admission decisions

ok calm down. Stop looking at everything in your point of view. An interview is meant for a student to know a college better and vice versa. It helps you! Not having one doesnt mean you are screwed. ITS AN OPPoRTUNITY NOT A NECESSITY

In this case an interviewer has taken the pains of contacting him and offered him a chance. Why refuse? Its like SAT 2 scores for a university which doesnt require them. ( take northwestern for example). Would you not send your scores if they were exceptional?

if the answer to the question is no then i have nothing else to say.
