How many of your parents utilize your alumni networks from undergrad and grad school?

I'm curious because I'm trying to gauge the difference between the entire Penn alumni network and the Wharton one to see if it's worth attempting a transfer and studying business for a stronger alumni network. (Note, that is not the only reason, but I feel that it may be a legit one. Also, I'm a prefrosh, so I have a whole year to figure out what's good for me and right now am just weighing out my options for undergrad study).

From personal experience, my mom doesn't use her alumni networks from undergrad or grad school at all. My dad uses his undergrad network for social reasons. He doesn't use his grad school networks (even though he went to one of the best MBA programs in the US). However, he does use his McKinsey alumni network a bunch, and it got him his last few jobs.

So, would you parents say it is worth having the strength of alumni network as a factor when choosing a school or path of study or have you found that you don't use your alumni networks?
