I was answering the questions for the University of Vermont on the Common App and I saw a fee waiver for an Alumni Referral letter. I tried to look on there website for more information about this, but I couldn’t find anything. Does anyone know what this is and what is required for it? My grandfather was a graduate from there so I was going to have him write me a letter hoping it would a) get me an Alumni Referral fee waiver and b) give me a better chance of getting into the school and getting merit money. If anyone knows what this is or how it works I would appreciate any answers! Thank you!
Hi!! I called up UVM with the same questions and I got this answer.
UVM has a proposed list of UVM alum that are able to hold meetings with interested students. At the end of this meeting/talk, they can introduce a fee waiver. Not every alum has the ability to give the fee waiver, and if you call up the admissions counselor, they will connect you with a regarded alum in your area that is willing to meet and chat and they will contact you. hope this could help!
