When do we find out if we got it or not,
i interviewed on the 4/9

was your interview anything like the UCLA ones previously mentioned?

i havent interviewed yet mines is not until the 23rd, the woman who called me said they would let us know before may 1st but she was under the impression that we were going to be notified then and there but who knows just know that it is before may 1st

my interview is monday...the alumnus who contacted me said I will be with a panel of 6-7 alumni...I'm kinda scared :( ...how was it kingroger?

I get to have a teleconference interview with a panel of 5-6 judges. :)

teleconference Monday here, too.

mine was panel @ 3 , at some law firm. pretty easy, they basically ask about your leadership stuff on ur ap and about urself, no tricky philosophical/political questions

thanks for the info, kingroger, wish me luck for tomorrow! ;)

I think I bombed my interview. halfway through the blasted thing I got so nervous because I was talking about myself for five minutes into open space-basically to no one. It was :" describe yourself in five minutes." blah.

i was notified about having been selected for the semi-finals. does this mean i should have been contacted about an interview? because to my knowledge I have not.

do they call or email?

mrlemongo, if you haven't been contacted for an interview that means you didnt make finalist status. Sorry.

hm...... =(

mrlemongo:

We just got the phone call a few days ago for an interview Monday the 18th. All the interviews must be completed by the 21st, so I supose it is still possible for you, but pretty unlikely by the end of the day Monday.

Ecner:

Anything else they asked on the phone interview- it seems much more difficult to do it that way, no opportunity to see facial expressions and whether you are conencting with the alums!

I find that very true. I had one interview for presidental scholarship at Ga tech and it was also with a panel. I think I did much better there than I did with alum scholarship. I didn't stumble around as much even if the questions were a bit harder.
They asked me easy questions such as:
1. talk about yourself for 5 mins.
2. where else are you applying?
3. what did you do over your summers?
4. elaborate on one of the item (honor) that I mentioned in my five minutes.
5. why did you choose Berkeley/
6. any questions?

Very simple, easy questions.

had mine today...not so bad...nice alumni (two interviewed me)

I got the scholarship!!! :) (e-mailed notification today)...and congrats to any other Alumni Scholars

Already! Wow, that was quick, I thought they had until the 21st to finish the interviews. I hope so, since no email here yet.

Any one else hear anything yet?

I guess I didn't get it because I didn't hear anything. It might differ by region because the guy in charge told me that I would know around the 25th on myBerkeley.

Our guy said next week.

I just found out that you are only notified about your scholarship status if you submit your SIR. At least, that what I think it is.
