I just got an e-mail about Pitt's alumni scholarships. My dad went their for his Master's so i'm eligible :)

What percentage of those who qualify (students of alumni with outstanding academic records/applications) end up getting the $5,000/yr or $9000/yr scholarship?

I really hope I can get it! I'll only have to pay <5k a year if i do, which would definitely confirm me at pitt :)

I thought the alumni scholarships are sponsored by the various alumni chapters. We have one in the northern VA/DC area and the scholarships were competitive.

Would those who are eligable for the Andrew J. Kuzneski, Jr. Recognition Scholarship and Hilda M. Willis Freshman Legacy Scholarship recieved an application sent by PITT by now if they are eligable or are they still sending? It says you are eligable if parent, grandparent ect. is a PITT alumni. We’ll my parents are alumni from a PITT branch campus. Do i qualify?

If you got an email about it, you’re probably eligible. Contact them if you’re unsure.

My son received the Chesapeake and Potomac Pitt Club scholarship invite so he’ll be applying. Looking at past winners (2 of last 3 from TJ - the top sci/tech school in the nation), it’ll be very competitive!

rmac399–so glad to hear the TJ students often win that Chesapeake and Potomac one. My daughter applied for it two years ago and never heard a thing;she had tippy top stats. Now I know why.
