hello im a 16 year old living with my mom in New Jersey. However, my dad lives in california and is a resident there( my parents aren't separated or divorced they just live in two different states)So my question is am i considered as a california residemy nt without moving there? Or am i a new jersey resident since thats the state where i live? I need an answer because it is important when i apply for UCs

You would have to do a year of high school in CA to be a resident.

http://www.registrar.ucsb.edu/residenc.htm

that should help

You are a New Jersey resident.

California considers you a resident of the state in which you graduate from high school, if you have a parent living there (so, not if you were at boarding school)

I dont get it u have that problem and i cant the waivers because they dont think my parents have a californian residency i dont get it
