The affiliate business has alot to do with marketing and talking to alot of people. I had to cordinate my clients with diffrent products that kept my clients happy and the poker sites happy.

For the person asking why I went to TAMU. I went here because my family is not rich. We could not afford the other schools I got into. I got into WASHU, North Western, and Carnegie Mellon. Both my parents make around 40k a year so I was unable to get any fin aid.

Yes the 3.0 can be attributed to laziness. In the classes in my major (Econ) my GPA is higher.

philC is a CEO :)

Holla!!!!!!!

I am very familiar with CTAs. Its nothing more than an investment vehicle. So you are telling me you are making 30K/mo trading FX? Whats your capital base? (I am guessing <1MM?) I haven't heard of any genius trader from SMU thats making tides in the managed futures biz. Not to mention I haven't seen too many FX focused CTAs socking me in the eye with the returns (and I have access to more or less all the major CTA databases).

Its not that I don't believe you because you are young and making 400K. I know of people your age making (or have made) around that figure.

I am an IB (introducing broker). I dont do the actual trading myself.

Ok guys. If you belive my story. Can we get back to my question? Am I a good canidate? Should i continue to build my businesses and then apply in a year or so?

thanks

Why are you guys a CTA if your primary activities are IB? I was in the IB business with five different brokers (IBFX, FXDD and a bunch others). Completely different business lines.

Anyways, if what you state is true I would play up your business experience. You might want to try HBS which waives app fees for college applications and provides feedback if you were rejected. You can also defer acceptances for two years. Best of luck.

The IB business is changing. ALOT of brokers are now requireing registration with the NFA.

Good idea with the HBS thing.

But you also come from an average school

Since when is a top 100 national university an "average" school? Idiot.

Also, why did you go to Texas A&M with a 1450?
[/quote]

Because some schools offer more than just academics.

I almost chose UC Santa Cruz over emory...location, scholarship, etc.
(And West Point...)

But to the original poster, I think you have a shot at a top 15 business school. If you come across as a precocious maverick, etc. then many schools will be tempted.
Look around at different programs, though, you may like some that aren't top 15 because of their focus.
