I want to go a good college but I don't think my chances are so great. My high school is in a low-income neighborhood so my class rank is probably top 2%. My 10-11 GPA is 4.12 and I have only taken two AP's so far, btw I am a Junior and I'm going to take 4 AP's next year. I've been on the tennis team every year and volunteer at a medical dispensary. I'm planning to get a 2000 on my SAT and spend days writing kick-ass personal statement.

Chance me for:
-UCD
-UCI
-UCSB
-UCSC
-UCR
-Cal Poly SLO
-Cal Poly Pomona
-Cal Long Beach
-Cal San Diego

I am in a very similar place to you, and I want to know what are my chances at any school:
GPA: 4.29 weighted and 3.78 unweighted
At the end of Junior Year I will have taken 6 APs including, Calculus, Statistics, Physics, English Language, Latin, and Macroeconomics.
I am the top 5% of my class, but I have a lot of Bs, but GPA is high because of my intense rigor. I play three varsity sports, and was capt. of 2/3 as a Junior. I tutor kids for 3 hrs/week, and I work during the summer.

I have a 2120 SAT score, and I plan on taking it again in the Fall.

What are my chances at schools like:
UPenn
Yale
Tufts
Wash. U St. Louis
USC
Michigan
Wisconsin.

Thank you. I have horrible anxiety and I would like to get some feedback.

@greengirl make your own thread

OP, remember that colleges see your course rigor relative to what was available to you. even though you’ve only taken 2 APs so far, your class rank shows that you’ve definitely excelled in your environment

@AznSkyDragon don’t worry, you have a great chance at all of those schools. UCD, UCI, and UCSB are matches, and the rest are low matches and safeties. I think you might have a chance at UCSD too if you’re interested in that school

If your SAT is higher than 2k try UCLA atleast! It never hurts to try.

I don’t think my EC’s are good enough for UCLA, UCSD and UCB, I would have to have even better stats to get in with just sports and volunteering.
