am i a hook?

Yay for day 2 of this ongoing discussion! :D

But seriously scales and Cali, if you are telling me to simply “forgive” them, that would be utterly impossible. Like I’ve said, I’ve been raised in a militaristic and quite nationalistic family, and to simply cast off those bonds that I’ve created to my country and the strong barrier between me and the Japanese would be very very very difficult, if not impossible.

I’m not trying to offend you scales or Cali, but at least the whites have shown some degree of empathy and regret at what they have done to the blacks. THE JAPANESE HAVE SHOWN NONE, I REPEAT NONE, OF THE SAME REMORSE OR SYMPATHY.

A rather coarse analogy would be like trying to forgive an arrogant, cold-blooded serial killer who murdered your relatives without a second thought and is content with himself.

idc if they showed empathy, its they’re fault that most black people are in the situation that they are in ;__; and they have the audacity to make stereotypes and complain about affirmative action D:<

thanks to Pianodude, I feel compelled to torch all my japanese made video games, but… i love final fantasy 12 a little to much ;__;

^ HAHA to the torching :D

But yeah, even today, some of the attitudes adopted by the whites towards minority races are disgusting . For example, it sickens me that some congressmen actually support limits on immigration. I mean, are they just that ignorant? THE U.S. WAS BUILT ON IMMIGRATION, and without it, the U.S. would be no where near as dominant and as influential as it is today. Really, those congressmen are immigrants themselves, as is the entire U.S. for they “migrated” here in the colonial days.

Man, imagine if I started a national movement and forced the Japanese to offer an official apology…Not only would that make me somewhat happier, but that would look so good on my resume lol.

Dude you should totally do that, rally the chinese people when you get to Harvard :D

I lol’d :p

About immigration… You make valid points, but most congressmen (as well as others) are irritated because they believe that illegal immigrants don’t pay taxes and “steal” jobs from “deserving” Americans.
I think it’s bs :)

hahah like an illegal immigrant gonna take a management job or engineering job from someone xD or if a illegal takes your job, you need to think about your life

^ Seriously, which child growing up is gonna be like “I WANNA BE A JANITOR WHEN I GROW UP DADDY!” If you aspire to such professions…see a counselor immediately…

I saw a show on illegal immigrants the other week, and it was eye-opening in that they showed the results if all illegals were removed from the U.S. The result would be a sharp decrease in national gross, a sharp increase in insanitary conditions, a sharp decrease in farm output, etc. So ironically, even though most people view the illegals as “detrimental to society”, they have little knowledge on the true impact that these people have played in the maintaining of civilized life in the U.S.

Lol. I love how this thread has gone from “is being a Chinese refugee a hook?” to “NO” to illegal immigrants.

Hahah I love this thread, our hatred for others is displayed to the world xD

Well the race situation is different. While Japan has failed to acknowledge past wrongdoing, the US Federal govt has distanced itself from the antebellum south and many times stated that slavery is bad and all that good stuff.
In fact, they have even paid MONEY to grandchildren of former slaves, lol. Imagine if the Japanese govt gave money to the CHinese!

where’s my money D: even tho im like great great xD

haha scales! I was about to ask the same thing

The question should be “Imagine if the Japanese govt gave money to the Chinese AND the Chamorros” lol I’d be rich.

@bzva74, Cali, scales

Yes, in fact, immediately after the war, the Japanese government did offer grants to the families of the murdered. However, instead of doing good, they only served to stir up even more hatred because of the arrogance and the conceit with which they treated the grant applicants. To make matters worse, not only were the grants extremely small, comparable to about $1000 today, but they were incredibly hard to get; required verification of the dead (HOW??, WHEN THEY WERE BURNED OR CUT TO PIECES BY YOUR TROOPS!), witness acclaims to the committed act (AGAIN, HOW THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO THIS!!!), among other ludicrous demands. The Japanese government is seriously one **cking piece of work, with its *cking idiot politicians and **cking coals for souls. No I don’t have Turret’s syndrome, simply when I get passionate about something, I swear…alot…

China should demand Japan to pay grants so it could further destroy Japans ever so stagnant economy

^ HAHA YES!!!

It’s amusing that Japan imports over half of its products from us…and does not realize that a continued hostility will only destroy them even more, not us, for I’m pretty sure we can sell our products elsewhere…Again points to the ***cking piece of work that is the Japanese government.

I must admit Pianodude, I admire how passionate you are about the situation.
off-topic (but so is this entire thread lol), but I also admire your ability to play the piano! I’m a musician myself.

^ :D, really? What instrument do you play? Did you read my chance thread :D? If you did, mind chancing me, my brother from another mother?

Lol, I’ve just realized the “content coverage” of this thread from “is this a hook” to a discussion over the Japanese to a discussion over illegal immigrants haha. :)

Well, I better grab me some shut-eye, two semester exams tomorrow :(, looking forward to continuing whatever discussion we fall into tomorrow :D.

Yes I did actually! I’m a bassoonist, contrabass clarinetist and a tenor saxophonist. and for the record, I’m a girl. :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll chance you though.

And you’re not on winter break?
