Hello, I attented the fall semester at a community college and received a 2.7 GPA. Throughout the semester I came to the realization this wasnt what I was looking for and wanted to attend a 4 year school. I have a 3.4 GPA in high school and my SAT scores are in the 1500s. I’m looking through many many CUNY schools, wondering if I can get in. I have decided to take the spring semester off so i can attend the fall 2017 semester with a clean slate. At the moment i’m unsure about whether or not i have a good chance and I wanted to just apply as a freshman with my high school transcript. Is that possible? And how are my chances looking? Also, does it look bad that i took off the spring semester? Thank you.
How many credits do you have?
I have a total of 13 credits
@HRSMom i have a total of 13 credits
I think you are transfer then. Check each school to see their policy, but a full semester is likely transfer at most.
You need to check each school’s policy. Ask admissions if the website is not clear. This isn’t something you get to choose.
lower division definitely but id think freshman.
CUNY is clear: if you have attended any college after finishing HS you are a transfer student. As other posters have noted, it can vary by uni, but it is usually easy to find the info on the website.
Thank you all for your answers!! Can someone tell me the likelyness of my acceptance at any school? With a 2.7 in my first semester i feel as if that ruins my chances…
