Am I able to withdrawal?

I’m a second semester freshmen who ignorantly took two 300 level courses, while one I have a high grade and keep up well, the other I am likely going to completely fail. As far as I know its a class that I must take for my major, but I fully plan on taking it when I am a junior and ready for the class. I’ve talked with the professor and tried my best but its a class geared for people who have already done internships or study abroad programs across seas. Wasn’t aware of that until this month.

Not to mention I am transferring schools in the near future, so I’m not even sure if that class credit will even transfer over.
I am way in over my head with this, the main thing I’m worried about it that I am only taking 13 credits and it is a 3 credit class. You must take at least 12 credits to be considered an on track student, what should I do?

Thanks!

talk to the counselors in your college’s advising center. you’re in a tough spot, but they might be able to help. who signed off on this plan during pre-registration in the Fall? That person bears some responsibility for this mess. Do not let this go on any longer than you have. By midterm, people will be much less sympathetic.

What’s the deadline for withdrawal?

Google the academic calendar for your school and it often has the last day you can withdraw from a class listed on the calender. If it isn’t listed there then ask either the Registrar or your academic adviser. I’m not sure how the transfer process works but you may also need to let the school you are transferring to know (if a list of course you are currently taken was submitted with your transfer application).
