I never received a "likely" letter, but today I did receive an email today reminding me to complete my FAFSA and to take advantage of their early filing program which started out by saying "Congratulations once again on your admission to Fordham." Does this mean I am admitted or is this a mistake?

I received the same email. I hope it means we were accepted! If so, congrats to you!!

I hope so too! Haha, congrats to you as well if this is real :)

I just received the same email! So happy right now!

I’m sorry I can’t be much help but I got that email too. It sounds like we all have a really good chance of actually being accepted. Best. day. ever. (hopefully)

I never got a likely letter, just like you. I did however receive that email. Do you think they would send this to those who were not accepted? As excited as I am for the line about admission, I am trying to not be too happy if the outcome is not in my favor…

What region do you guys live? Also, do you know when letters are expected to be sent?

I got the same email… I’m really confused because I hadn’t heard anything before about it and when I look on the applicant portal, there is nothing on it saying I have been admitted. I’m hoping it’s not a mistake…

I’m from Ohio, and I got the same thing. I bet it’s one of those stories you hear about every year where they sent an email when they didn’t mean to/sent an automated email too early. We were probably supposed to get it Saturday or Sunday.

I am from the South. Also, I received an email last week saying that the admissions decisions would be ready on or about the 13th (online) I wonder too if they sent it to early. I want to be excited now, but I don’t know!

Yeah I’m not gonna get my hopes up because it could just be a mistake but…still kind of exciting…

I got at the top:

“Congratulations once again on your admission to Fordham.”

At the bottom:
John W. Buckley
Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment
Fordham University

[University Statutes: Appendix 5](http://www.fordham.edu/campus_resources/administrative_offic/legal_counsel/university_statutes/appendix_5/)
Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment and
Chair of GAAC John W. Buckley

It seems legit.

That’s exactly what mine said…did anyone not get one? Maybe that means the top line is true

I don’t know if anyone didn’t get one… I’m in MN. I’m really hoping this isn’t a mistake.

my son also got one. I called the number on the e-mail and spoke to a representative. He said that Fordham gives them the info. of students for their upcoming class (both spring and fall) so he assumed that means that my son got in. Nothing different about the portal. I tried to call Fordham admissions but they were closed. I hope to see our guidance counselor tonight, as we live closely to Fordham and my sons school has a relationship with them. If they can shed any light, I will post.

I don’t know if anyone didn’t get one… I’m in MN. I’m really hoping this isn’t a mistake.

I got one about an hour ago as well! After doing a quick exploration of my Fordham online profile, I came across this:

EARLY ACTION:
INCOMING FRESHMAN FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION PROCESS
To receive an early award notification, you must submit your FAFSA through our Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion service with our trusted partner Student Aid Services (SAS). Admitted students who fill out the FAFSA through the services will receive an early award estimate in a Personalized Information Packet.

We will notify you via e-mail and hard copy mail when you can begin this process.

If you miss the filing deadline or would prefer not to use the service, you may use the Regular Decision FAFSA & CSS Profile filing option and receive a financial aid package by April 1.

It seems to be a legit email, maybe before the official decision comes out within the next 24 to 48 hours. I don’t know for sure though.

At Stephmark3: Please do! Also, coincidence that the admission office is open from 9-5 and apparently started sending out these emails at 5 PM EST (according to twitter reactions)? I don’t think so! I really, really hope I just got accepted.

Mr Buckley is on the staff as Assoc. VP in Admissions, and is a very good person. Sometimes the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing and the snail mail notices go out slower and the emails are out of sync. That is how I read it. Mistakes can happen, but its highly unlikely he sent out emails to you and will yank them back later with an “Oops”. So I read it as an acceptance, though not the formal one. He is just reminding you to file the FAFSA so they can get a package offer ready for you.

Fordham’s financial aid is technically separate from admissions, but its also connected for incoming freshmen. In subsequent years, your contacts will be exclusively with financial aid and admissions is not involved for upperclassmen (except transfer students.)

Do you think I didn’t get in if I didn’t get one? I’m confused because Fordham is my safety and I have a 4.6 GPA…
