Am I admitted or not? Can somone help me make sense of this?

Confused, am I admitted or not?

I got a letter from Tulane a week ago with the introduction "On behalf of the facultyand administration of Tulane University, I am pleased to offer you admission into the undergraduate college of tulane university for the fall, 2006 term." The least comments are as follows; "It is my pleasure to cordially invite you to become a member of the Tulane famile. I look forward to seeing you on campus in the fall." This letter is also signed by the CP of Enrollment Management. The letter did not, however, contain a user name and password for a personal accepted student site. Furthermore, I recieved a letter today (dated from the same day as the admission letter, January 11, 2006) that claimed my Tulane application deadline had been extended to February 1. A particularly confusing line is as follows; "I'm so eager to review your application that I'm extending the deadline for your to take advantage of your Personal Application until February 1." So what is a Personal Application, and do you think I have to do it to maintain my status as accepted?

Sounds like cross mailing, check the second letter dates

And CALL THEM....ask about the user name etc, see what they say

Definitely give them a call, I kept getting applications from schools after I applied and got a little worried but it turned out to be a mistake. So give them a call and sort it out.

So what are your stats

Perhaps they forgot to remove you from their spam list?

stats are 720m, 650v, 670w

3.7 GPA w/10 honors courses, 6 AP's (4's in boths tests I took last year)
skewed grading scale: 90-93= B+, 94-100=A, 84-89=B, 80-83= C+...
EC's include being a technecial director of a morning T.V. show, NHS, couple of clubs, German Honor Society

Suspended senior year for posession of alcohol at a football game, explained suspension fully on app

The second letter (deadline extension) could have been a mass-mailing sent to everyone who indicated interest in applying (for example, if you sent in a form requesting brochures, subscribed to their online newsletter, etc.) regardless of whether they have already submitted the application.

yeah, you're in. congrats! call to be safe, but dont worry, you're in.

You're in. They just don't double check their email and mail lists, so you're still getting all of their recruitment mail. I wouldn't be surprised if your username and password were mailed separately from the acceptence, in which case you'll get it any time now. To make sure, I suggest calling the school.

yea, I doubt that the VP of admissions would personally sign my acceptance letter if they wern't sure of it. But to be sure, I did send them an email yesterday explaining my concerns. Now im just waiting on Jonhs Hopkins, Bucknell, Emory, UMich (from which I got deferred), U Rochester, U Miami, and Case Western.
